My name is Khadija Dawn Carryl and I was born and raised in Montreal, Canada. When I got married to my hubby, I moved to the USA to be with him. We have lived in Connecticut, New York, and Maryland. I really liked Maryland a lot. Along the way, we had four beautiful kids.
Then due to a job transfer we found myself back home in Montreal. It has been nice being back, and I am grateful for the time I had living somewhere else so that I could see a bit more of the world and open my eyes some. I feel that having these life experiences of travelling and seeing other people and places, really opens your eyes, mind and hopefully your heart up.
I have been doing natural hair care for over 10 years. I came across my love for henna through Islam and my conversion to Islam (became a Muslim). I saw how so many diverse cultures used henna and it was really an endless learning experience. All in all henna really brings people together. Honestly, I can’t complain. It just had so much good around it. It always gives me a big smile to see someones first experience with henna. From there, as I have always loved to draw, I began to explore body art with henna. I took a henna workshop to learn the basics, and then I began to incorporate my own style and techniques into it. Having an actual henna business, just came all of a sudden through that and it really all fell perfectly together. That was in 2005, and now today we’re still going strong.
I adore everyone I’ve met along the way, and each and everyone client! It’s a real blessing to do something you are passionate about, and to share this with others, while having the opportunity to stay at home with the kids.
In 2008, we relocated to Brampton (Toronto), Ontario and we really like it here. We hope to continue to grow everyday!
